This handcrafted wall piece takes the form of an open book, its pages and covers shaped from solid cherry and black walnut. The dark, deeply textured borders frame two replaceable cyanotype prints: Hokusai’s The Great Wave off Kanagawa on the left, and a quiet view of Mount Fuji on the right.
The wood is joined with traditional through- and blind-tenons, then carefully aged so the surfaces feel both ancient and alive. Light moves across the carved texture, while the two small images sit quietly within their wooden frames — a dialogue between motion and stillness, sea and mountain.
