Behind every form, or every belief, there is an outline that exists in each person’s heart. It may not be concrete, yet it is real.
Following the Way of Heaven and Earth, where the void is supreme, nine empty niches were carved as vessels for the forms of all beings.
Perhaps emptiness itself is infinite — what can be seen and what cannot be seen both dwell within it.
This wall piece is shaped from solid camphor wood. Nine small arched niches are carved into the surface in a quiet grid, their interiors left open and unfinished. The wood is deeply textured by knife, partially carbonized, and touched with gold, giving the whole piece the quiet gravity of an ancient cave wall.
